Very nice gentleman

To fill you in properly we need to back up about a month or so ago.

Around the end of may or so I was talking to the employees at the dollar store where I go a lot about trying to get a PO-box so I could continue to try and get health insurance and not having much luck at coming up with the money for it. Well about two weeks ago that guy that was working in there asked me if I still needed help with that I told him yes, well he said he could help me out with that in about two weeks I said thank you so much for that. I was suppose to meet him on the 5 for that but things happened and it didn’t happen ( another post on that later ).  So I was hanging out at my normal place tonight ( July 8 ) about ready to go home when he came walking up to me and apologized for not showing up I told him that was alright because I wasn’t around long myself and explained what had happened and we chatted for a little while before he asked was that 80 dollars you needed I said yes that’s what it said on their website he pulled out some money and handed it to me and said I hope it helps I thanked him for the money and told him I would pay him back as soon as I possibly could because I know that’s a lot of money, he said don’t worry about it I’ve got money put away I asked him was he sure he said ya don’t worry about it, we talked for a while longer before he said he had to be getting home I thanked him again and off he went home.

I’m so thankful for that young man’s help now I can try to get health insurance and get the paperwork I need to try and get SSI disability and get back on food stamps again.

Reblog / In Chechnya and Abroad, Today’s LGBT Martyrs Killed for Hatred of Love

April 22, 2017/0 Comments/in Uncategorized /by Robert Shine, Associate Editor

Editor’s Note: Content in today’s post may be disturbing to some readers as it deals with violence against LGBT people, including a brief description of such violence.

Pope Francis is celebrating a liturgy for contemporary martyrs today, held at the church of St. Bartholomew in Rome which functions as a shrine for martyrs of the 20th and 21st centuries. Those remembered will include persecuted Christians, pastoral ministers killed because they worked for justice, missionaries, and resisters against totalitarian regimes, reported Vatican Radio.

“Jesus is Beaten,” from series “The Passion of Christ: A Gay Vision” by David Blanchard

I want to remember LGBT martyrs as well: those people who have been killed because of their gender and/or sexual identity or because of their advocacy for LGBT human rights. In particular, I remember LGBT people in Chechnya who are en masse being kidnapped, tortured, and even murdered. One Chechen gay man told the BBC:”If beating you with their hands and feet is not enough, they use electric

“If beating you with their hands and feet is not enough, they use electric shock. . .They have a special black box and they attach wires to your hands or ears. The pain is awful. It’s terrible torture. . .They used to detain people before all the time to blackmail them. . .Now [the aim] is the extermination of gay men, so that there are none left in the republic.”

Once they are released from these torture scenarios, the now outed victims have faced reprisals from their own families, including at least two honor killings, according to The New York Times. While Chechnya’s president denies any persecution, human rights groups based in Russia are secretly helping to evacuate LGBT people from the country.

Critics will contend LGBT victims of violence are not martyrs; they were not killed because of odium fidei (hatred of their Christian faith). But in early Christianity, the word “martyrdom” meant a witness to the truth of faith. Today’s LGBT martyrs are witnesses to the truth of how God created them, and thus witnesses to the Creator. They include high-profile leaders who demanded equality, like Ugandan LGBT rights activist David Kato or U.S. gay rights pioneer Harvey Milk. They also include those who simply refused to deny a God-given identity, like the many transgender people, particularly women and people of color, murdered each year.

Though it is the Easter season liturgically, this is also a time of crucifixion for too many people. Blessed Oscar Romero, himself a martyr, challenges us, as the people of God, with these words:

“For the church, the many abuses of human life, liberty, and dignity are a heartfelt suffering. The church, entrusted with the earth’s glory, believes that in each person is the Creator’s image and that everyone who tramples it offends God. As holy defender of God’s rights and of [God’s] images, the church must cry out. It takes as spittle in its face, as lashes on its back, as the cross in its passion, all that human beings suffer, even though they be unbelievers. They suffer as God’s images. There is no dichotomy between [the person] and God’s image. Whoever tortures a human being, whoever abuses a human being, whoever outrages a human being abuses God’s image, and the church takes as its own that cross, that martyrdom.”

No, murdered LGBT people are not universally martyrs odium fidei, but I consider them martyrs odium amoris, or for “hatred of love.” This designation is an emerging, though not yet canonical, category for those killed because they died acting for the common good. As such, they demand to be remembered and honored by the church.

Pope Francis may not share my thinking or specifically include LGBT martyrs in his prayers today. Sadly, he has too often remained utterly silent about LGBT victims of violence. I am unaware of any church leader who has expressed solidarity with LGBT people in Chechnya. This makes our prayers, as LGBT people and allies, all the more important and urgent.

Who are the LGBT martyrs that are special to your heart? Please name them in the “Comments” section of this post so that we can pray to them and with them today and in the future.

I know it’s been awhile

I know it’s been awhile since I’ve been around that’s because things haven’t been going so well, so hear’s how things have been.

At the start of April I ran out of money on my food stamps ( EBT ) FDC doesn’t tell you your card renew’s when it’s activated their form letter tell’s you it renew’s throwout the month so I had to panhandle to get money to eat tell my card renewed on the 18, so I had little time to sit around and charge my phone during the day at the library besides that the lady that runs the place was making excuses to run me off because of me being homeless. After my card renewed I learned how long I had before it would be renewed again and to watch my spending, I was doing quite well with it tell some no-good ass pickpocketed me at the store and took my EBT card I called it in and had it cansoled they said I would get my new card in 5 to 7 working days but that never happened, I finally had a nuff of the hole EBT card thing and just let it go, besides there was a lot I couldn’t buy with it anyway that I needed cash for. My brother has helped me out as much as he could and the rest I have gotten from kind people helping me out. I found a store where I can charge my phone during the day they don’t mind me being there because I don’t bug the customer’s gone in and out and now I have a rechargeable battery pack so I don’t have to worry about my phone gone dead on me the only problem with it is it takes a very long time to charge because it’s 16,000 mla.

I don’t know how it is in other states but hear in FL it’s illegal to panhandle you can be arrested and spend 48 hrs in jail so I don’t panhandle that often I mainly reli on kind heart people to help me out so sometimes I have money for food and supplies and other times I do with out, I know it’s not a very good system but it keeps me out of jail and besides that it helps keep my anxiety attached down.

I’m not living on the street’s anymore I get out my tint and set it up out in the woods after getting rained on all night long one night it’s peaceful for the most part where I’m at but the Armadillo’s are a nuisance especially when they come snooping up against your tint looking for bug’s to eat in the middle of the night and the raccoons especially when there fighting off and on all night long it sounds like cats fighting.

Well it’s 2 am now so I should rap this up now and try and get some sleep I think this cover’s the basics of things.

Love and peace to you all.

Thow we goshed and jocked we knew this day would come for life is not etarnal in this world but maybe the next were two old soul may wans again cross paths to be reunited !!!

REST IN PEACE KEN

Reblog/ To the Parents

thecheckup

This week was…tough, to say the least. I am emotionally drained.  As an Emergency Physician, there is no greater terror than a truly sick child coming into your Emergency Department. And no greater disheartenment than not being able to make those kids better. Today’s blog post is an ode to the parents of those children- the ones who don’t make it. I keep every single one of their faces in my memory as motivation to get better, and to know more, and, for the cases where all of that is not enough, to never lose my empathy.

To the Parents-

I’m sitting across from you in the “Family Room” right now. I hesitate to open my mouth because of the sheer grief that washes over your face when I do. The pain is so palpable it’s hard for me to finish sentences.  The cold metal of the chair rail is…
